Melbourne Police Receive Mobile Command Center.

Brevard Business News reports that The Melbourne Police Foundation, established in 2006 as an independent nonprofit entity to support the Melbourne Police Department in the purchase of needed equipment that falls outside the budget, has donated a Unified Mobile Command Center (similar to the one pictured below)  to the MPD.

Brevard Business News says:

In addition, the Melbourne Police Foundation has contributed roughly $22,000 to outfit the UMCC, which is for use by the Melbourne Police and Fire Departments. Those two departments have been seeking funding for the center for several years. A “UMCC” is a response–and–recovery vehicle thathelps an agency’s ability to expand its command–and– control capabilities to a remote location. Full interoperable communications is a standard feature of UMCCs.
